Carly McDonald ́s Personal Profile

Carly McDonald, a studious and driven individual, is a senior at Berea Community High School.  During her time at Berea, she has secured a notable resume, including being captain of the varsity cheer team, Senior Editor of Journalism, Chief of Staff of the senior class, a Duke Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) participant, 1st Runner Up of the 2019 Fall Homecoming Court, as well as being named a 2019 Governor’s Scholar.

From middle school to now, these leadership opportunities have not only brought forth newfound qualities of her character, but they’ve also brought McDonald some of her dearest friends, one of whom had much to say about McDonald’s drive for academics which play a major role. One of McDonald's friends from Duke TIP, Maya Mackey, stated that McDonald's definition of personal success was, “I’d say that for [McDonald], success is being able to to be excellent at something, but I would also say that she places a lot of value in the people around her.¨ With the help of those closest to her, she conquers the goals she sets out to meet, in addition to keeping a strong work ethic along the way.

McDonald is full of life and has her eyes set on the bright future ahead of her (seriously...she plans to major in Aeronautical Science), and it is guaranteed that this little town of Berea will be witnessing her success, even after she crosses the stage of Seabury in May.
