On Wednesday, September 4, the Berea Community High School Cross Country Team had a meet at Woodford County. Despite the heat, the Pirates pushed through and achieved incredible times to begin their 2018 fall season.

Berea Community Cross Country is proud of what they have accomplished. According to assistant coach Lynn McCollum, “Given the running conditions, [which] were very tough… our runners did fairly well. Their times weren’t what they would have been if the weather had been a little bit cooler.” McCollum continued to describe how the runners gave it their all even though it was a tough run.

The team expects great things this season and plans to see times decrease as they grow throughout the rest of the year. McCollum stated, “I expect to see their times go from here, and I expect to see them cut off a lot of time. I expect to see great things out of them.” She explained that the team has come a long way through the past seasons they have had.

We are very excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for the Pirates. If you would like to support your local BCHS Cross Country Team, come out on Saturday, September 22 as they compete at Berea South Athletic Field.
