The Berea Community Elementary School art classes recently collaborated with the middle and high school art classes on a project. Elementary classes created drawings which were then recreated by older students. The project was brought to schools throughout the county by a Madison County art teacher, and adopted by Berea Community art teachers Tina Williams in the elementary and Kim Clouse in the middle and high school. The final projects, featuring the original art and the older students’, were displayed in the BCS atrium. Students, faculty, and staff were given the opportunity to vote on their favorite pairing. The winners, junior Lola Cox and third grader Delaney Lemaster, had their artwork displayed at the Madison County Arts Expo last week. Ms. Clouse said of her students, “My students were excited about this project. I was also impressed because my students were very concerned with not disappointing the original young artists. Some even asked if they could meet their young inspirations!”
