On October 8, the Berea Community High School volleyball team was defeated by Madison Southern with a final score of 0-3 in the district tournament.

Despite their loss, the Berea Community volleyball team is proud of how they played and what they accomplished this year. Coach Jarred Penn felt that even though the Pirates lost at districts, they still gave it their all. Additionally, this season has been the best season Berea volleyball has ever had. According to Penn, “I think we did great this season; we ended on 19-11 [win-loss record] counting the district game.”

About his goals for nexts year’s volleyball season, Penn stated, “I’d like to get 20 wins and to see the girls continue to improve.” According to senior and team manager Garrett Theodore-Powell, “It was our first winning season, so I feel like this will really inspire the girls to do better over the years.” Although this season has been great, the volleyball team plans to be even more successful next year and in the future.

Penn also described how much team has grown together this season off the court and how they have formed a family bond. In his opinion, the perfect team should be a family, work hard, and be drama free.

The Berea Community School volleyball team has many goals for the future; they hope to continue growing as a team and be even more successful in the next season. Come out next year to support the Berea Community volleyball team
