On October 14, Berea Community Elementary School hosted its annual Career Day. Career Day is a fun and educational day for men and women in the community to showcase their occupations and what they entail to the elementary school students.

Berea Community Elementary welcomed several students’ parents, Berea alumni, and members of the Berea community such as curator Christopher Miller, Berea Police and Fire, public health educator Laura Nagle, nurses Lisa Peterson and Kristi Barron, professional photographer Crystal Wiley, local yarn shop owner Joan Becc, Berea College farmer Andrew Oles, professional DJ Jason Henninger, and computer programmer Scott Hagen.  Going from classroom to classroom they presented to the students what it is they do for a living, how they do it, and even showed the students some things they use at work and let the students try. The students had the opportunity to watch the presentations, participate in hands on activities, and ask questions about each career.  Fifth Grader Joseph Alexander said, “It was cool to see all the different jobs [they] have and to be able to play with the things [they] brought with them. It was really fun.” At Career Day, Berea students were able to learn a lot about many different careers and were able to have fun while doing it.
